The Hounds Tales Podcast was created in 2020 with the idea of giving field trial and deer dog houndsman a place to listen and talk the sport they love. With the way the country has got and the image deer dog hunting has, a positive light was desperately needed. With this in mind, the Hounds Tales Podcast was born.
Our platform is solely based on the idea of shinning a positive light on the world of dog running. In the podcast, blogs, and eventually our YouTube channel, there will be topics and conversations had that will sometimes be opinion based. While we are doing this, make no mistake, we are not pros in the field trial world nor the deer dog woods, and we will never claim to be. This is just a friendly place to enjoy hound talk, maybe pick up on some ideas, and again...give a better image for the hound hunting community as a whole.
This mission with the podcast is going in a slightly different direction that our first season. We attempted to put an episode out every week and bounce around different directions and topics to cover all different areas. This was great to start, but still having full time jobs, families, and trying to keep our own dogs in shape to compete and hunt, I will admit it wore us down fast. This is the reason we had to take a break. So with the rebirth of the podcast, we are going to shoot for a new episode every 2-3 weeks depending on time allowance. We are going to go in the direction of talking with well known people of the sport of field trialing and some episodes will also be based on and around the deer dog world. We feel as if this is a good direction for the podcast to stay up beat and keep entertaining you as we want. We are always looking for ideas and topics to discuss or people to talk to. So feel free to email us with any and all ideas.
The blog idea came to me while I was working one day, sitting down at lunch and scrolling through Facebook and other social sites. I am not much of a reader but I do enjoy reading quick hunting stories or reading up on the latest hunts. So I sat down and started to write, write about memories of the deer woods as a kid, about my first field trial, about the first time I placed a dog. This is something I wanted to share with the world and maybe provide some entertainment as well. The plan is to provide stories as mentioned as well as help others follow along on my hound hunting journey. This as well as the podcast, I am hoping to release new blogs every couple of weeks to keep our fans entertained and keep that shine on the houndsman of the world.
Growing is something we want to see anything we set our minds to do. That is the goal for The Hounds Tales organization as well. We plan to start our YouTube channel in the next few months. This will be documenting and capturing the magic our deer season in a tasteful manner, showing the workings of prepping for field trials, maybe even being able to record some action at hunts as well. We are very proud of our hounds and the work the dogs put in, and the work we put into them as houndsmen. We wanted to present the world with a clean and positive channel that really gets the message out that we are a good group of guys and gals to just have a passion for the hounds, and never want to see it die.
We will be building our website as the time goes on. Of course we will have our podcast and blog posted, links to our YouTube channel when that starts, and other options along the way. We would like to see a message board where people can post about upcoming hunts and results. Leaderboard links and past records, anything we can get our hands on. We would love to create a place where all information for field trialing can be found.
One thing I would like to express to anyone that visits the Hounds Tales organization, any help we can get is always a blessing. Right now the group is getting back up and rolling, as we would love to be able to do more, cost is always something that pops up. I personally would love to dive fully into this and be able to whole heartedly dedicate to this dream, but I do have a family to provide for. We would also love to get to the point where we can donate to hunts and charities centered around the hound hunting world. This is not a cry for help so please don't mistake it as so, all I'm asking for is for the understanding that starting off we can not donate or give our time to every hunt every week. As eventually we would love to grow to that level, just starting off we cannot. With this I will say, if there are any groups, organizations, or companies that are interested in partnerships, feel free to email us and we can discuss options and we thank you ahead of time for any and all interest in the Hounds Tales organization.
